Guide Bettane et Desseauve 2014 : Note minérale, fumée déjà bien présente, qui permet de bien retendre une bouche avec un léger moelleux. Le terroir s?exprime déjà. Apogée de 2013 à 2026.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (David Schildknecht, août 2014) : From a clos that has not until 2010 been signified on his labels, Jean Boxler's 2011 Pinot Gris Sommerberg W(iptal) (signified on the bottle's presentation label with a "W") displays quince and mango along with an overlay of caramel, the fruit's far-gone sense of ripeness reinforced by sweetness on an opulent and subtly oily palate. Fortunately, there is ample primary juiciness, helping to convey a sense of vivacity to the finish, rich, sweet, and faintly warm though it is. I imagine this being worth following through 2018. "When we planted these vines," notes Boxler, "the plan was to make a dry Pinot Gris. But it's impossible in this site and with the 20-22 hectoliters per hectare that it is giving us.
