Domaine Philippe Alliet Chinon "L'Huisserie" red 2021

92/100 RVF and 93/100 Castaing/Parker. "The Other Coteau de Noiré"... The vines in this parcel were a bit too young, but their potential was such that the winemakers warned us: "one day you will see". With each new vintage, this cuvée amazes us a little more... and its price is getting closer to the illustrious Coteau, its elder... But we are still far from the prices of other great cabernet francs from the Loire, and we should take advantage of it. Still too young in 2023, best to forget it in the cellar for a few years if possible.

PRESENTATION OF DOMAINE ALLIET
+ ALL ITS OTHER WINES IN STOCK

Attention:

The wines signed by Philippe Alliet all deserve a decanting a few hours before tasting, as the low level of sulfur used during vinification sometimes encourages the phenomenon of reduction upon opening the bottle (unpleasant aromas of cabbage, rotten egg), which of course disappears with aeration.

Domaine Philippe Alliet Chinon "L'Huisserie" red 2021:

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2025 (August 2024): 92/100. The expertise of the Alliet family is evident in challenging vintages, as seen in the L'Huisserie 2021, which offers floral notes, graphite, and noble vegetal characteristics. More slender than broad, yet with commendable substance, it will evolve in the classic style of fresh Loire vintages.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
(Y. Castaing, June 2024). 93/100. The 2021 Chinon L'Huisserie is derived from 23-year-old vines planted on flinty clay soils. Offering up a reduced, complex bouquet of violet, blueberries, cassis, cedar, and licorice, it’s medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced with a layered, structured mid-palate complemented with bright acids and a penetrating, mineral finish that is a hallmark of this cuvée in recent years. DRINK DATE 2024-2034.

Technical sheet:

L'Huisserie is crafted from clay and flint soils, with relatively young vines. Aged 10% in new barrels, it will be easy to enjoy quickly, although it has all the character to age for 5 to 10 years.
