Les Quatre Piliers - Valentin Desloges
Les Quatre Piliers is a young estate of 10 hectares, located in the heart of the Loire Valley in Noyers-sur-Cher.
It is Valentin Desloges, son of a winegrower, who is now at the head of the Domaine des Quatre Piliers. This young winegrower returned to his native land after various winegrowing experiences to begin a new adventure by taking over this vineyard.
The 4 Pillars is almost 25 plots of land that are divided into 4 locations. One of them has given its name to the domain: the place called "Quatre Piliers".
Places with varied soils and exposures, made up of sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc, cabernet franc, pinot noir and côt (malbec). A succession of small gardens that the young winemaker has decided to convert to organic farming from the beginning (2020 vintage).
At the estate, the grapes are harvested by hand to preserve the quality of the fruit and the fermentation is done with natural yeasts. The estate's barrels are made of oak from nearby forests and Valentin Desloges places great importance on the impact of the barrels on his wine.
Son of a winegrower, before settling at the Domaine des Quatre Piliers, Valentin Desloges worked in Alsace (Domaine Sipp), in Saint-Emilion, in Chassagne-Montrachet (Domaine Pillot) and in Meursault (Domaine Coche-Dury). An exemplary training to become an example to follow in a few years!
He is currently in the process of making his own barrels and hopes that within a few years, the forest of Loches, located a few kilometers from the property, will be the only source of wood for the domain.

A superb second vintage that remains very fresh, crafted by Valentin Desloges, who has just completed his apprenticeship at domaine Coche-Dury in Meursault, Burgundy.
