Henri et Gilles Buisson, THE reference in Saint-Romain

buisson-bourgogne-vigneronsThe Buisson family produces great organic Burgundy wines at Henri and Gilles Buisson estate, mainly in AOC Saint-Romain, but also on other prestigious appellations such as Corton, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Pommard, Volnay, Beaune. The reds are made from Pinot Noir (95%) and Gamay (5%). As for the whites, they are made from chardonnay (95%) and aligoté (5%).

This family estate, THE reference in Saint-Romain, has been passed down from father to son for 8 generations. The history of the estate took a turn in the 1950s: Henri Buisson decided as a true avant-garde no longer to sell bulk but bottles with a label in his name. The family still keeps the bottles of the very first 1947 vintage in their cellar today! Gilles, son of Henri, takes over. The vineyard then expands with new prestigious appellations. The succession is now ensured by the children Franck (since 2008) and Frederick (since 2006). Franck, graduated with a Masters in International Business, is responsible for sales. Frederick, armed with the famous DNO (National Diploma of Oeonology) takes care of the vines and winemaking. Before taking over the estate, they perfected their wine culture by traveling the 5 continents in search of new experiences. An open-mindedness that we find today on the estate of course, and also by capilarity in the renewal which has been blowing in the Saint-Romain appellation for some time. A terroir previously "minor" which becomes "major", helped by the great vintages of the 2010s!

The Buisson brothers have 5 sons between them ... between 0 (during the confinement of March 2020!) And 9 years old: the 9th generation is ready for learning, and is already sharing the happy labeling weekends! The vineyard covers 19 hectares and covers 15 appellations. The estate obtained Ecocert certification in 2009, and continued "naturally" on the biodynamic label Biodyvin: The vine growing and oenology of the estate are very natural: cultivation without chemical inputs, small yields, manual harvesting, plowing, etc. study of the implantation of beehives, etc. etc.

Here are wines of character cut for aging. High-level Saint-Romains, which have nothing to envy to the other illustrious appellations of the Côte de Beaune! !buisson-bourgogne-devanture
