Why buy Yves Canarelli wines?

Because we love them, and we believe these wines are a perfect addition to your cellar! But as some of our customers have said, "we are not objective, since we have tasted them and chosen them to sell: we are biased". That’s why we prefer to "defend" our selection with comments from major guides, which are more objective than we are:

Guide Bettane + Desseauve : 4/5 (very high quality). The latest vintage of the great limestone vineyard of Bonifacio, Tarra di Sognu, confirms that a first great cru has been born. For now, it remains unrivaled in Corsica, with a mineral tension not found in Figari, where the wines are softer and more aromatic.

Guide RVF des meilleurs vins de France 2025 : 3/4 "Yves Canarelli affirms himself as the great winemaker of southern Corsica, passionate about ampelography (the old grape varieties biancu gentile, carcaghjolu neru, and minustellu have been replanted). In 2009, he took over a pre-phylloxera vine parcel in the village of Orasi (cuvée Tarra d’Orasi) and vinifies two superb cuvées in large clay amphorae (Amphora). Partnered with the famous Corsican sommelier Patrick Fioramonti, Yves Canarelli replanted the first vineyard of Bonifacio, rich in a rare limestone on the island: this is how Tarra di Sognu was born. The wines from this vineyard reveal an immense terroir and increase in power as the vines age. The projects are numerous, especially since the arrival of his son Simon-Paul."

In Magnum n°4 (Michel Bettane) : listed among the "10 masters of organic viticulture": He has given himself the means to refine his production to an unprecedented degree, sometimes in a revolutionary way, with the very intelligent and accomplished use of amphora aging, but most often following the usual rules of great organic wines.

In Magnum n°11 (Michel Bettane) : listed among the "10 stars" of Corsica: Yves Canarelli [...] has become a superstar of the Mediterranean vineyard in less than twenty years. About the wines: After shocking everyone, the white wine, which was probably the first to ferment under wood, has won the admiration of all sommeliers on the island and mainland. The red wine has gradually become one of the most subtle thanks to a unique mastery of aging, particularly the sublime Amphora cuvée, aged in amphora, as its name suggests.
