Francois Grenier, the "newbie" in Saint Joseph
Located in the well named village of CHAMPAGNE in Ardeche, Francois Grenier estate covers 20 ha. He released his second vintage in 2015.
Previously, the grapes from this family estate were delivered to the local cooperative winery. Since 2014 vintage, Francois Grenier decided to bottle his own wine, creating an interesting range of PGI and Saint Joseph wines of the two colors, including two single vineyards.
After a heavy investment, especially to turn an old car garage into a winery (perfectly healthy of course!), the winemaker sees his risk rewarded by a sumptuous 2015 vintage.
Usually we offer the wines of winemaker famous all over the world. Today, we welcome the arrival of a "newcomer" in Saint Joseph, and leap on his superb potential (as long as he still has wines to sell)!
The three selected wines represent the best of the estate They are perfectly representative of their appellation in the classic sense of the term. Nothing revolutionary, very good wines perfectly
vinified and aged.
The techniques used are the most advanced, and it is not necessary to wait 5 years before opening these Saint Joseph. Vats are ovoid (and in concrete, as at Laurent Combier estate) and the finest wines are aged in 400 liters oak barrels (or half-muids), more or less new according to the cuvées.
Food pairing wines adapted to traditional and / or spicy cuisine. Decant them several hours before drinking (at 16 ° C).
