Château MALHERBE - Famille Ferrari
Château MALHERBE - Ferrari family in Côtes de Provence
In Bormes les Mimosas, in the heart of the Provencal region, the Château Malherbe wine estate extends over a unique and preserved 25-hectare terroir on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, at the level of Cap Bénat, the Fort of Brégançon and the Pointe du Diable.
The Ferrari family has been cultivating the land of Malherbe for 4 generations. Formerly an agricultural property, it was only in 1964 that Mireille and Serge Ferrari decided to transform the property into a 100% wine-producing estate and bottle the "Château Malherbe" production for the first time.
Since 2007, their son Sébastien has been managing the estate, perpetuating the family's efforts to achieve excellence. The vineyard is certified organic since 2014 and biodynamic since 2021. He is assisted in the vineyard by Mr. Laburthe.
The 25 hectares of the estate are spread over two very distinct terroirs which give birth to two ranges of wines with different and well marked styles. In red, rosé and white:
Malherbe, on a gentle hillside, inland, has a clay-schist terroir and gives wines for ageing, full-bodied, solar and mineral. While the "Pointe du Diable", on the edge of the coast, with its sandy alluvial soil mixed with quartz and strong sunshine tempered by the sea breeze, produces fine wines with a refreshing iodine touch.
