Yvon Métras is figure winemaker of Beaujolais. This great name of "nature" gamay has built its reputation thanks to its exceptional organic Fleurie with great ageing potential. He also produces Beaujolais and Moulin à Vent appellations. However, the low production sometimes makes it difficult to buy a few bottles ...
Yvon began his first vinification in 1988 at the family estate. Since then, this 5-hectare estate has become a reference. Following the convictions of his two masters Jules Chauvet and Marcel Lapierre, great precursors of "nature", he opts for a viticulture without chemistry. The result: very low yields, hand-grown grapes, no added sulfur. Nature wines, organic, biodynamic.
Its magnificent terroirs, some of which have a very steep slope (worked with a winch if necessary) allow him to produce superb gamays of great care. Depending on the year, 3 Fleurie vintages are born: Printemps, Vielles Vignes and Ultime. He also produces a Moulin à Vent and Beaujolais wine.
He passed on his passion to his son Jules, who also produced some wines under his own name.
