francois-villardFrancois Villard has a strong personnality: when his wines (Cote-Rotie, Condrieu, Saint-Peray, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage) are not ready to taste, tasting them is out of question... no matter the good scores in the guides!

Talented self-taught winemaker, Francois Villard systematically tends to harvest only when the grapes are fully ripe. He believes is the motto "good wine is made in the vines, not in the cellar". Each vintage brings its share of surprises and new cuvees, always highlighting the specificities of each terroir. All wines from Francois Villard have in common a good ageing potential, and yet a strong tendency to please when young. This is due to the fact that the grapes are harvested only when perfectly ripe, enabling enchanting aromas of flowers and fruits to develop.

The estate now owns a brand new cellar and covers 25 hectares. And remember that Francois Villard started from zero! A success that is confirmed with each bottle tasted ... These bottles are today becoming rarer: they are not even sent to the critics for tasting anymore ... "too strong demand"!
