Alain Chabanon, among the best winemakers in Montpeyroux.
Alain Chabanon's father was a wine lover and share his passion with him. After long advanced studies, he graduated from ENITA Bordeaux and then Agro in Montpellier, ). He then He then worked at Chateau Montus and Chateau Bouscasse of Alain Brumont (a winemaker to whom he devotes a great admiration).
The installation in Languedoc is a return to native land, and the realization of a dream. Since his first vintage in 1992, Alain Chabanon has a single objective: produce great wines, equal to the diversity and richness of the vines that he has the chance to own. He does not hesitate to enlarge the estate when a superb terroir is available, to create specific cuvees that highlight specific plots, and thus vinify as close as possible to what nature provides. The estate has been certified in bionynamics since 2011.
Today, the estate has become a reference in Languedoc. It is - among others - presented at the menu of a dozen triple stars Michelin restaurants... The fame came from abroad in the mid 1990s, as often at this time Languedoc wines still suffered in France from an erroneous image inherited from the past. This is why Alain Chabanon's wines are so difficult to find in France: the foreign importers who had discovered this nugget before us have remained faithful to him!
