Domaine Philippe Alliet Chinon "L'Huisserie" red 2022

95/100 RVF. "The other Coteau de Noiré"... The vines in this parcel were a bit too young, but their potential was such that the winemakers warned us: "one day you will see". With each new vintage, this cuvée amazes us a little more... and its price is getting closer to the illustrious Coteau, its elder... But we are still far from the prices of other great cabernet francs from the Loire, and we should take advantage of it. Still too young in 2024, best to forget it in the cellar for a few years if possible (prefer the superb 2021 or the already delicious 2023!)

Attention: The wines signed by Philippe Alliet all deserve a decanting a few hours before tasting, as the low level of sulfur used during vinification sometimes promotes the phenomenon of reduction upon opening the bottle (unpleasant aromas of cabbage, rotten egg), which of course disappears with aeration.

Domaine Philippe Alliet Chinon "L'Huisserie" red 2022

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026 (August 2025): 95/100. Rich in color and concentration, L'Huisserie reaches an exceptional level in 2022. This sunny vintage is perfectly managed to yield wines of remarkable precision. They will need 20 years to fully reveal themselves.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Yohan Castaing, July 2024): 93-95/100. If the Vieilles Vignes is elegant and refined, the 2022 Chinon L'Huisserie, already in barrels, is rounder and more structured. Offering a floral bouquet of peony, iris, and violet intertwined with dark wild berries, it’s medium to full-bodied, precise and pure with a textural attack and powdery tannins, segueing into a penetrating, mineral finish. It will offer a broad drinking window. This multidimensional wine should turn out very well after the élevages and for the next 10 to 20 years. Drink date 2024-2044.

Technical sheet:

L'Huisserie is crafted from clay and flint soils, with relatively young vines. Aged 10% in new barrels, it will be easy to taste quickly, even though it has all the character to age for 5 to 10 years.
