This prestigious cuvée does not benefit from the Corbières appellation! Could it be above the standards of this appellation? We prefer to highlight its unique grape variety, so noble yet incompatible with the appellation that requires blending with other grape varieties. The young winemakers are so pleased with their superb plot of grenache noir that they vinify it separately, too bad for the AOP... but what a result! They would have been wrong to hold back :-)

Domaine des Deux Clés "Jeux de Clés" (grenache noir) red 2022

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2025 (August 2024) : 91/100. With a modern style, Jeux de Clés red appears somewhat muted with a constraining tannin. The grenache will need time to settle.

Note that this is a wine for aging that is still very young and should be forgotten in the cellar until 2024. Tasting it in 2023, right after its release, would be inappropriate! Prefer the 2021s if available, they will be perfect.

Geology : Jurassic clay-limestone soils

Parcel : plateau at 300 m altitude

Grapes : 100% Grenache Noir

Vinification:
100% destemmed, whole berries foot-trodden.
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks.
Long maceration, extraction by pumping over.
End of maceration after the slowing of alcoholic fermentation.
Pressing and blending of press and free-run wines.

Aging :
9 months of aging in 228L barrels.
Barrels from 1 to 5 wines from the Chassin, Damy, Gillet & François Frères cooperages.
