Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie "Côte Blonde" red 2023

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Y. Castaing, mai 2026): 96/100. More toasty at this stage than La Landonne, the 2023 Côte-Rôtie La Côte Blonde unwinds in the glass with aromas of spice, dark and blue berries, pepper, iris and violet, the oak still perceptible in its youth. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, it is seamless yet powerful, built around a deep, concentrated core of fruit framed by abundant, velvety tannins, concluding with an expansive, ethereal finish. Entirely vinified with whole clusters, its stem-inflected profile will require time in bottle to fully integrate and reveal its finest nuances. DRINK 2030-2055

Technical sheet written by the domaine

Côte Blonde is the flagship cuvée of the domaine. It comes from a parcel selection based on the best limestone-dominant terroirs.

This cuvée is made for aging. Ideally, wait 20 to 25 years to fully appreciate its complex aromatic range.

Best enjoyed between 15 and 17°C after decanting for 3 to 4 hours in advance.

Ideal culinary pairings according to René Rostaing: Une sauté of wild mushrooms, pigeon with truffle, or certain cheeses like Saint-Marcelin.

The 3 cuvées of Côte Rôtie are vinified and aged in exactly the same way so that only their specific terroirs are the source of their different personalities.

Vinification: The vinification, free from any artifice and excessive technique, treats hand-harvested grapes with respect, ensuring that we find the sought-after typicity in the glass. The vinification combines respect for tradition and calculated modernism, such as total or partial destemming and fermentation in self-pumping tanks. Self-pumping tank.

Aging: The aging of about two years takes place in Burgundy barrels of 228 liters and in demi-muids of 600 liters (the latter providing an excellent wood/wine ratio). The proportion of new wood remains modest to prioritize the terroir and the purity of the fruit.

Limited yields rarely reaching 35 Hectoliters/Hectare ensure the wines' constitution and richness, flavor and elegance that we invite you to discover!
