Domaine Rostaing Cote-Rotie "La Landonne" red 2023 (3 bottles)

The superb terroir of La Landonne (in the north of Côte-Rôtie) usually only reveals itself after many years in the cellar. But 2023 may prove us wrong as it is already very balanced in 2025!

Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie "La Landonne" red 2023

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Y. Castaing, mai 2026): 97+/100.Entirely crafted from whole clusters, the 2023 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne reveals a complex, deep bouquet of dark berries, violet, tapenade and grapefruit, interwoven with nuances of lead pencil. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and structured, it is built around well-balanced, gently stem-inflected tannins that confer lift and tension, extending into a long, mineral finish marked by notes of timut pepper. Precise and seamless, this is a superb rendition of La Landonne. DRINK 2029-2058

Technical sheet written by the domaine:

The 3 cuvées of Côte Rôtie are vinified and aged in exactly the same way so that only their specific terroirs are the source of their different personalities.

Vinification: The vinification, free from any artifice and excessive technique, treats hand-harvested grapes with respect, ensuring that we find the sought-after typicity in the glass. The vinification combines respect for tradition and calculated modernism, such as total or partial destemming and fermentation in self-pumping tanks. Self-pumping tank.

Aging: The aging of about two years takes place in Burgundy barrels of 228 liters and in demi-muids of 600 liters (the latter providing an excellent wood/wine ratio). The proportion of new wood remains modest to prioritize the terroir and the purity of the fruit.

Limited yields rarely reaching 35 Hectoliters/Hectare ensure the wines' structure and richness, flavor and elegance that we invite you to discover!
