A cuvée 100% pinot noir with an elegant, lace-like structure, without excessive concentration. Rare: we only received 4 cases this year. Forgetting it for a few years in the cellar will only enhance its quality.

Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Noir "Heimbourg" red 2024

Tasting Comments (January 2026): Light red color. The nose is already expressive, marked by red fruits, still a bit of reduction from aging, and especially by licorice and spices. The palate is fine and elegant. Of medium power, this wine envelops the palate with soft tannins enhanced by beautiful acidity. It should not be served too cold and certainly needs to be decanted before serving in its youth. The finish is precise and taut, like many wines from this late vintage.

Technical sheet written by the domaine

Description: Pinot Noir has certainly benefited the most from climate change in Alsace. By ripening earlier, the grapes enjoy better sunlight and longer days, contributing to improved phenolic maturity. However, this delicate grape variety cannot tolerate excessively high alcohol levels, which are unfortunately a consequence of a warmer climate. On the west-facing slopes of Heimbourg, the evening sun allows the grapes to ripen well, while still maintaining a reasonable alcohol balance thanks to late morning sunlight. The grapes are 100% destemmed. The maceration time is short (10 days) to avoid over-extraction. We perform light pump-overs during fermentation and one or two punch downs. The wine is pressed just before the end of fermentation and finishes its fermentation in tank before being transferred to 228L barrels where it will age for 17 months before bottling.
