Domaine Peyre Rose "Belle Léone" red 2012

Released from the cellars of domaine in March 2022. The cuvée is now called "Belle Léone" instead of "Syrah Léone", under the Vin de France designation rather than "Coteaux du Languedoc". Indeed, the winemaker does not like the new designation "Languedoc" (plain), which has replaced "Coteaux du Languedoc", so having chosen "Vin de France", she is no longer allowed to indicate a grape variety name on her label. One of our regulations that makes foreigners laugh! No worries, neither the winemaker, nor the vines, nor the wine are changing; it’s still just as good!

Domaine Peyre Rose "Belle Léone" red 2012

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2023 (Sept. 2022) : 93/100. Belle Léone 2012 is also reserved, dark, structured, with notes of charcoal and leather. It deserves to be waited for the structure to mellow.

Bettane + Desseauve Guide 2023 (Dec. 2022) : 97/100. Of a very different style from 2013 with a powdery sensation, very silky tannins, contained power, and a sensual vinosity.
