Cedar notes dominate the nose of the 2019 Crozes Hermitage Perles Noires, although there are some attractive dark-fruit aromas underneath the oak veneer. Full-bodied and rather woody, plum and black olive notes struggle to be heard on the palate, while the finish returns to where the wine began: cedar. Drink date 2021-2024.
