Domaine Rebourseau, one of the finest in the Côte de Nuits.
The Henri Rebourseau domaine is located in Burgundy, in Gevrey-Chambertin. Its Premier Cru wines, "La Perrière" and "Fonteny", are highly sought after, not to mention the Grand Cru wines "Charmes-Chambertin", "Mazis-Chambertin", "Chambertin Clos de Beze", "Chambertin" and "Clos de Vougeot". The wines are made from very old pinot noir vines and are vinified and aged according to Burgundian tradition. A little history: General Henri Rebourseau had been at the head of the family estate since 1897. His son Pierre Rebourseau took over in 1949 after a career in industry – he was a graduate of the École Polytechnique and had headed De Dietrich. The estate then passed to his grandson, Jean de Surrel, who pioneered sustainable viticulture in 1980, followed by organic viticulture. In 2018, the Bouygues family joined the domaine and maintained the family heritage without altering its wine-growing heritage, which has remained unchanged for over a century. Significant resources have since been invested in producing one of the finest wines in Burgundy, and each year the wines gain in finesse and complexity. The sleeping beauty has awakened!

Why buy Gevrey-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot wines from the Rebourseau domaine?
Because we love them, and we believe that these wines deserve a place in your cellar! But as some customers have told us, ‘we are not objective, since we have tasted and chosen them to sell: we have a vested interest’. That is why we prefer to ‘defend’ our selection with comments from major guides, which are more objective than we are:
RVF Green Guide to the Best Wines of France 2009: "This domaine was founded in 1782. Today, Jean de Surrel manages a portfolio of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards that rival those of Rousseau and Trapet, but with less international renown."
