Clos du Mont-Olivet Châteauneuf-du-Pape white dry 2024

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026  (August 2025): 94/100. The 2024 Châteauneuf white showcases its power while expressing a delicious, fresh, and energetic fruit, with aromas of wild fennel.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Y. Castaing, Oct 2025): 92+/100. Gently iodine-inflected and lively, the 2024 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc from Clos du Mont Olivet reveals aromas of white fruits, flowers, and confit citrus. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it is elegantly framed, with a concentrated mid-palate enlivened by delicate acidity—remarkable for a wine from this appellation. Primarily composed of Clairette and Roussanne, this is a stunning effort. Drink date 2025-2034.

Technical sheet written by the domaine :

VINTAGE :
“A successful vintage, an epic vintage”
A complicated vintage par excellence.
A rather dry start to the year was followed by a particularly hot and rainy period. Bud break was early, and downy mildew exerted strong
pressure until July, compounded by significant shatter on Grenache.
The summer was quite warm, and the harvest went smoothly. The quantity of the harvest was significantly impacted.
Despite the difficulties of the vintage, the grapes showed beautiful maturity and balance.
The harvest took place from September 11 to 18.

TERRIOR :
Clay-sandy dominant soils, on the lieux-dits: Montalivet, Le chemin de Sorgues, les Cabanes, and Palestor.

VINIFICATION :
No destemming. Harvested early in the morning, the grapes are then pressed, and the selected juices undergo a night of static settling.
Vinification and aging: 84% in stainless steel tank, 11% in new and one-wine barrels, 5% in 400-liter barrels

BLEND :
40% Clairette - 30% Roussanne - 14% Bourboulenc - 10% Grenache Blanc - 2% Clairette rose - 1% Picpoul - 2% Picardan - 1% Grenache Gris

SERVING TEMP : 11°C
