Les Vignes Métissées 2023 du Roc des Anges :

Comment from the domaine : The vines have been interplanted with white grape varieties and a few reds as well. Two years ago, we also replanted muscats, grenaches gris, blancs, and noirs, picpoul, and cinsault. The color of the wine comes from this nuance of the red grape varieties: this pale pink comes directly from nature and not from technique.

In 2008, we purchased a small century-old plot planted with nearly 15 different grape varieties. Whites, gris, and noirs coexist, including many forgotten old varieties.
We chose to push the blending to the limit, harvesting the plot all at once to work it as a white. The juice will ferment and be aged in Burgundy barrels of 5 wines.

Tasting : Subtle aromas of flowers and citrus during fermentation, a delicately pink hue, for a terribly saline and mineral palate and a bewildering wine. Neither white nor rosé, just beautifully blended.

Soil: Schists

Age of the vines: planted between 1963 and 2011

Production: 1500 Bottles/year.
