RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026 (Sept. 2025): 94/100. The Clos des Porrets is tighter and firmer, solid down to the limestone flavors in its finish.

A monopole covering 3.6 hectares, this parcel is located just below the Perrières, an old quarry in Nuits Saint Georges that was exploited by the monks of Citeaux. Sitting on the pink limestone of Premeaux and very stony, the Clos des Porrets is composed of limestone scree and clay-rich soils on the lower slopes.

The wines produced from it express a beautiful finesse after a few years in bottle. The Porrets are notably mentioned by Dr. Lavalle in 1855, author of a famous work on Burgundy wines, who considers it one of the best crus of the commune.


The vineyard: the 1.8 hectares of this parcel benefit from an ideal location and sunlight in the heart of the Nuits vineyard. Sometimes young (15 years), sometimes older (70 years for the oldest), these vines give body to wines with aromas of wild fruits, game, imbued with a lot of minerality.

The domaine: this premier cru excellently expresses all the typicity of the wines from the Côte Nuits and its rows of vines clinging to the slopes: wines of great finesse, developing beautiful bouquet qualities.

Blend: a blend of a few other parcels (1.70 hectares in total) located south of the village of Nuits, and another, situated at the top of the slope, called "Jacquinot," ideally placed above the premier crus. Well-structured, these wines wonderfully illustrate the typicity of Nuits, both in length and power.
The Saint-Georges draws both from the Pruliers for its energy and from the Vaucrains for its mouthfeel and structure. It is the most complete of the three.
