VINEYARD

Location: municipalities of Chaintres, Varrains, and Saumur
Terroir: chalky subsoil, sandy and clay-limestone soils
Average age of the vines: 25 years

GRAPE VARIETY

100% Cabernet Franc

VINEYARD MANAGEMENT

Chalky subsoil known as ‘Tuffeau’; a blend of sandy and clay-limestone soils that provide typicity, elegance, and roundness to the wine; typical terroir of Saumurois.

WINEMAKING

Manual harvesting in crates, sorting table for the harvest before pressing by conveyor belt.
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 16 to 22 degrees.
End of fermentation at a temperature of 24 degrees.
Maceration of 8 to 10 days, aging in stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels on fine lees without sulfur for 3 to 4 months.

TASTING COMMENT

Notes of red fruits on the nose and palate.
Light and fresh, with a beautiful acidity.
