Domaine Albert Boxler Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg "D" 2019

Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg "D" 2019 by Albert Boxler

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2022 (Sept. 2021) : (Sept. 2021). 95/100. "The different versions of Sommerberg delight us, starting with the rieslings. Even spicier with its coriander notes, D gains in liveliness, with a very sharp and cutting structure in the finish: one of the most striking rieslings."

Bettane and Desseauve Guide 2022: 98/100. The most compact of the three grand crus presented this year, with a strong saline presence on the palate, and this remarkable fruit maturity (citrus family) in this vintage. It will also go far.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Stephan Reinhardt, March 2023) : 96+/100. The 2019 Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg Dudenstein has an intense lemon color and opens with a deep, intense and granitic, highly complex bouquet of perfectly ripe and lush lemon fruits with iodine notes. On the palate, this is an elegant, rather classic, very salty, crystalline and terroir-driven Riesling that is compact and still edgy but also rich and shows a very long, intense and powerful, endlessly saline finish. This is another long-distance runner that will benefit from further bottle age. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022. Drink date 2030-2055.
