Which wines from Domaine de Terrebrune should you buy?
Simply choose your colour! Here are the characteristics of the wines from domaine de Terrebrune:
The reds from Terrebrune
The reds express all the nobility of Mourvèdre in Bandol. They offer intense fruit, a serious yet controlled structure, marked minerality and freshness that supports the whole. These are wines of character, made for the table and for ageing, capable of gaining depth and complexity over the years.
The rosés from Terrebrune
The rosés from the domaine hold a special place in the Provençal landscape. In their youth, they charm with their aromatic brilliance, tension and saline length. Over time, they develop greater substance and complexity, confirming their status as fine gastronomic rosés and age-worthy rosés.
The whites from Terrebrune
The whites combine breadth and precision. Their aromas of stone fruit, aromatic herbs and sometimes honey are underpinned by a straight, saline and iodine-tinged palate. These are wines that evolve admirably in bottle and can reach beautiful fullness after several years in the cellar.
Vine growing, harvesting, vinification and ageing
Precise and respectful viticulture
At the domaine, the vineyard is farmed organically in order to preserve the organic life of the soils and encourage controlled natural grass cover. In winter, sheep and goats help with natural weeding between the rows. Everything is done to accompany the vine without harming its environment.
Hand harvesting and rigorous selection
Yields are controlled through gentle fruit thinning in spring and particularly selective harvesting, with levels around 35 to 40 hl/ha. The grapes are picked by hand and then transported in crates to preserve their integrity and the quality potential of each vintage.
Long ageing to reveal the identity of the terroir
Ageing takes place gently in 40 to 60 hl oak foudres for 18 months. The wine then continues its refinement in bottle for more than a year in cool, humid galleries. This extended period produces balanced, stable wines destined for fine longevity.
A unique terroir in Bandol: the Triassic and the influence of the sea
Across 35 hectares of terraced vineyards, farmed organically, Terrebrune produces wines whose identity rests on a rare balance between power, freshness, finesse and minerality. Reds, rosés and whites express here a demanding vision of Bandol, shaped by a singular terroir and by Mourvèdre, the emblematic grape variety of the appellation.
The personality of the wines from Domaine de Terrebrune is born of a remarkable alchemy between geology, climate and grape variety:
The domaine lies on the Triassic massif, a rare terroir formed from an ancient seabed more than 220 million years old. On the surface, this soil combines limestone scree and brown clays, while the vine roots plunge deep into fractured rocks rich in mineral elements.
To this exceptional geological foundation is added an ideal position facing the sea. The Mediterranean influence, prevailing winds and temperature variations between day and night bring the wines of Terrebrune a natural freshness, a saline framework and a remarkable aptitude for ageing. This microclimate also helps preserve the balance of the grapes, even in sunny vintages.
Mourvèdre, the king grape variety of great Bandol wines
At Terrebrune, Mourvèdre finds one of its most accomplished forms of expression. The king grape variety of AOC Bandol, it gives here wines of depth, breed and complexity, without ever becoming heavy. The proximity of the sea, essential to its full expression, encourages slow, complete ripening while preserving tension and energy.
Mourvèdre gives the red wines of the domaine their structure, aromatic intensity and ageing capacity. It also contributes to the signature of the rosés, whose ability to stand the test of time is impressive, and forms part of an interpretation of Bandol that is at once Mediterranean, elegant and mineral.
An organic philosophy in service of the living world
From the outset, Domaine de Terrebrune has followed an approach that respects nature and the balance of the vineyard. The vines are grown organically, with particular attention paid to biodiversity, soil life and the environment of the domaine.
Hedges, trees, flowers, insects, birds and beneficial wildlife all contribute to a living ecosystem, preserved with consistency. Soil work favours traditional practices, with no weedkillers or synthetic chemical products. The domaine also draws on principles close to biodynamics, with a constant pursuit of harmony between the vine, the soil and the climate.
This exacting approach is found in the glass: the wines of Terrebrune stand out for their finesse, complexity, elegance and that sensation of saline freshness which extends the fruit without ever overwhelming it. They pair effortlessly with the finest gastronomic meals and appear on many Michelin-starred tables.
The strengths of AOP Bandol
Red Bandol comes from vines that are at least 7 years old, with a minimum of 50% Mourvèdre in the blend. It is aged in casks for at least 18 months. These requirements guarantee the production of powerful, high-end reds with very long ageing potential.
White Bandol wines are dry and composed of at least 50% Clairette. This grape variety offers magnificent freshness, including over time. The aromas are floral and the colour is sustained, especially after a few years of cellar ageing.
Rosé Bandol is vinified by saignée, as opposed to less prestigious blended rosés. It contains 20% Mourvèdre, which gives it a more robust structure than other Provence rosés and, of course, a unique capacity to age, sometimes for 5 to 10 years!
What is the history of domaine de Terrebrune?
1963: Creation of domaine de Terrebrune by Georges Delille
1990s: Reynald Delille takes over from his father
2020: Jean d'Arthuys, the businessman with a passion for wine, joins forces with the Delille family to give new momentum to domaine de Terrebrune.
For several decades, the domaine has pursued the same ambition: to produce Bandol wines of great precision, faithful to their terroir and capable of standing the test of time.
Where is Domaine de Terrebrune located?
domaine de Terrebrune is located in Ollioules, in the heart of Provence. The vines and wines benefit from AOP Bandol.
How should Terrebrune be enjoyed? (serving, decanting, ageing)
The rosés and whites should not be served too cold, as tasting them straight from the refrigerator can limit the pleasure. Ideally, serve them at around 10-12°C to appreciate their full richness.
The reds are best enjoyed at around 15-16°C, like most red wines. Serving them too warm would make the alcohol stand out excessively, while serving them too cold would harden the tannins.
Young reds deserve to be decanted at least one hour before tasting, allowing the aromas to awaken, a process that will continue during the meal and in the glasses.
The glasses should be suited to tasting, with a tulip shape to concentrate the aromas towards the taster’s nose.

Guide Bettane + Desseauve 2026: 4★/5. A terroir within the terroir: that sums up Terrebrune, a cherished property. Located in Ollioules, this domaine close to the Mediterranean plays between sea spray and first-rate limestone soil. No muscle, nor deeply coloured wines, but wines imbued with sensitivity, which should be awaited and allowed to express themselves through their aromas. More recently, it is Julien Paul, the brilliant technical director, who has been bringing the Triassic character to the fore and refining the precious grain of Terrebrune.
Guide RVF des meilleurs vins de France 2026: 3★/5 In the commune of Ollioules, the organic vineyard cultivated by domaine de Terrebrune benefits from a Triassic clay-limestone marl soil unique in Bandol, giving it a style of its own. Here, the red naturally finds its finest expression, without ever being exuberant, and one may sometimes be surprised by its profound restraint when compared with some of its neighbours, monsters of power. Co-owners Reynal Delille and Jean d'Arthuys are the guardians of this style, whose ability to endure over time is beyond question. The red is a monument of winegrowing Provence. There is also the rosé, in which Mourvèdre slightly dominates the blends, and the white (Clairette, Ugni and Bourboulenc), produced in smaller volumes. Both are somewhat reserved in their youth. At five years in bottle, they breathe. After ten years, their shoulders broaden, the contained youthful fruit gives way to Mediterranean aromas from their terroir and reveals a breadth that few wines from the region can equal. Like its wines, the reputation of domaine de Terrebrune has been built with discretion.
