The winemakers have chosen a screw cap to maintain the freshness of this wine, which is not intended for long aging and should be enjoyed within 5 years after the harvest.

Vines
Grape variety: 100% riesling
Soil: gravel on Scherwiller (pebbles from the alluvial cone of the Villé valley, very poor/light, little clay, very reactive), decomposed granite from the Grand Cru Frankstein (Dambach-la-Ville) and the slopes of the Scherwiller foothills, schists from the Schieferberg of Bernardvillé.
Different works: late-ripening grape variety, it requires special attention to determine a harvest date that allows harmony between the freshness of the aromas and sufficient maturity.
Climate in 2019: the 2019 vintage was particularly sunny. The soils awakened quite early. Quickly, the vegetation was restricted in water, from spring to harvest (350mm of precipitation for the year against an average of 550). This implies low disease pressure during the vegetative growth, a good health condition of the grapes, but low yields and a late harvest.
Yield: 35hL/ha
Cellar
Blend: 100% Riesling
Works: very exclusive settling, excellent raw material. very loose kieselguhr filtration, pre-bottling sulfiting only (2.5 g/hl).
Time: long fermentation (8 months), malolactic transformation in the same vein, aging in stainless steel tank on fermentation lees.
Anecdote: Blend of cuvées from different plots, this blend combines the advantages of each of the places where the vine is planted. The Riesling will thus serve as a common denominator to appreciate its great terroir siblings.
Tasting
Visual: yellow of strong intensity, golden hues.
Nose: moderate to strong intensity. Delicate presence of lemon, orange, blood orange, and ripe exotic fruits (pineapple and mango). There are also notes of fir honey and flint at the opening. Spicy finish.
Palate: the attack is fresh. Very marked structure, ripe acidity that gives it great verticality. Supported citrus aromas with a strong presence of integrated spices at the end of the palate, highlighted by significant salinity.
Food and wine pairing: As a starter with a pineapple carpaccio drizzled with olive oil and pepper. With crayfish accompanied by a chard risotto. Finally, with a citrus-based dessert.
Ageing potential: The marked presence of ripe acids gives it a potential of at least 10 years.
This cuvée is sealed with a screw cap to preserve its freshness.
