Presentation of this custom mixed case of 9 bottles written by the winemaker:

"On certain precious years, I preserve the memory of unique plots, keeping a part of every blend. This selection, among my best lieux-dits, invites you to discover the subtlety and purity of these incomparable plots. In an exceptional vintage, an exceptional selection..."

Montlis, Fongeant, Côte-Bodin, Cognet, Bertholon, Montmain, La Viallière, Le Champon, and Leyat are the 9 terroirs vinified separately in 2018, to be discovered in this unique mixed case.

"Besides the parcel selections from his classic range, Stéphane creates a unique range from his selection of lieux-dits. There are very few things as inspiring and enriching as tasting through these rare and unique lieux-dits. This is an edition with very limited quantities, so don't miss your chance to taste these exceptional bottles." Jeb Dunnuck

Viallière 2019: 97/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*)

I loved the Côte-Rôtie La Viallière 2019, and it remains one of the best in the selection of Lieux-Dits. Beautiful blackcurrants and dark raspberries, notes of violet, floral incense, and crushed stone, a medium to full body, plenty of tannins, and a lovely finish make it an exceptional Côte-Rôtie that deserves 4 to 5 years of bottle aging. This wine wonderfully reflects the 2019 vintage, more structured and tannic, and will have 25 to 30 years of aging potential. MATURITY: 2027 - 2053.

Montmain 2019:
94+/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*)

The Côte-Rôtie Montmain 2019 will be a great wine for aging, as it is currently structured and tannic. Coming from one of the steepest plots, facing full South and one of the first to be harvested, it has notes of black fruits, as well as mint, leather, crushed pepper, and some hints of game. With firm tannins, a medium to full body, and remarkable concentration, it will require at least 4 to 6 years of bottle aging. It will keep for over two decades. MATURITY: 2027-2043.

Bertholon 2019:
93/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*) : The Côte-Rôtie Bertholon 2019 is magnificent, showcasing a complex, fleshy style with red and blue fruits, as well as notes of violet, iron, leather, and smoked bacon. I always find a subtle sanguine and iron character in this wine, and the 2019 is no exception. With a medium to full body, a silky and elegant mouthfeel, and a beautiful finish, it is surprisingly accessible and already complex, and should evolve effortlessly for another two decades.
MATURITY: 2023 - 2043.

Côte Bodin 2019:
93/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*) :

The Côte-Rôtie Côte-Bodin 2019 is fragrant, bold, and complex. Aromas of red, blue, and black fruits, along with notes of acacia flowers, mint, incense, and leather define the bouquet. It is medium-bodied, with an elegant and silky palate and an exceptional length. It is already accessible with the fruits of its youth, as is the case for all these new 2019s. However, it will benefit from at least 2 to 4 years of bottle aging. MATURITY: 2025 - 2047.

Montlis 2019 :
92/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*) : Derived from schist soils on the northern side of the appellation, vinified using a portion of whole clusters, the Côte-Rôtie Montlis 2019 showcases a rich, broad, and ample style on the palate, along with plenty of ripe, chocolatey fruits and fleshy, truffle, and mineral aromas. It exhibits great richness and depth. MATURITY: after 2027.

Fongeant 2019: 94/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*) :

Always elegant, fragrant, and complex, the Côte-Rôtie Fongeant 2019 was vinified using a portion of whole clusters and then aged in used barrels. Wonderful red and black fruits (even some blue fruits) as well as violets, spices, and floral incense define the bouquet. It is medium-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins. One of the most concentrated and tight wines, it should be forgotten for 4 to 5 years, then should evolve for 15 to 20 years. MATURITY: 2027 - 2043.

Cognet 2019:

94/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*) :

The Côte-Rôtie Cognet 2019 is fragrant and spicy, with notes of herbs. mentholated, floral, leathery, and numerous red and blue fruits. The whole leads to a medium to full-bodied Côte-Rôtie, balanced, exotic, and floral, which will require bottle aging of 3 to 5 years. After 2026.

Le Champon 2019: 94+/100 (Jeb Dunnuck*) :

The Côte-Rôtie Le Champon 2019 is characterized by spicy aromas, graphite, chocolate, and leather, along with beautiful red and black fruits. Slightly closed and tight on the palate at the time of tasting, it is medium-bodied to full-bodied. It has ripe tannins and a straight, precise style that should develop further with 4 to 5 years of bottle aging.

After 2035.

Leyat 2019: Vinified for the first time in 2018, the Côte-Rôtie Leyat 2019 is a knockout and one of the stars of the Lieux-Dits selection. Incredible blackcurrant, graphite, violet, iron, and some bloody nuances define the bouquet. It hits the palate with a medium to full-bodied richness, a concentrated and powerful mouthfeel, building tannins, and a beautiful finish. Coming from a small lieu-dit between Côte Brune and La Landonne, just above Côte-Bodin, this brilliant Côte-Rôtie will be best forgotten for 4-5 years and has 25-30 years of aging potential. MATURITY: 2027-2053.
