RVF Guide of the Best Wines of France 2026 (Sept 2025): Favorite and 95/100.Finally, Ancestrale expresses the quintessence of Marsannay, delightful and mellow, traversed by a fresh and polished sap, very deep but already radiant.


Technical sheet written by the domaine:

Terroir: "L'Ancestrale" comes from a blend of vines aged 60 to 80 years on several hillside terroirs of Marsannay.

Yields: low yields (around 20hl/ha), small millerandé clusters typical of these old twisted pinots that should never have been abandoned.

Vinification: flexible, with 50% whole bunches for character and complexity, indigenous yeasts, 24-month aging in barrels with a high proportion of new wood the first year and then in one-wine barrels to meld the wood and let the wine express itself.

Simple methods, the grapes only need to express themselves.
