RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026 (Sept 2025): Favorite and 95/100.Finally, Ancestrale expresses the quintessence of Marsannay, fruity and smooth, with a fresh and polished sap, very deep yet already radiant.


Technical sheet written by the domaine :

Terroir: "L'Ancestrale" comes from a blend of vines aged 60 to 80 years across several hillside terroirs of Marsannay.

Yields: low yields (around 20hl/ha), small millerandé clusters typical of these old twisted pinots that should never have been neglected.

Vinification: gentle, with 50% whole-cluster fermentation for character and complexity, indigenous yeasts, aging for 24 months in barrels with a high proportion of new wood in the first year and in barrels from a previous wine afterwards to integrate the wood and allow the wine to express itself.

Simple methods, allowing the grapes to express themselves.
