Domaine du Mortier Viré-Clessé "fût de chêne" dry white 2023

Here is a Viré-Clessé with a subtle nose of citrus and yellow fruits, slightly vanilla-like due to its oak barrel aging. A lively yet not aggressive attack, which rounds out beautifully on the palate with a lovely complexity and aromatic persistence typical of a good chardonnay, thanks to 9 months of oak barrel aging. With the freshness of its understated aging, it is already wonderful in 2023, but will be even more complete in 2024!

This is the prestige cuvée (thus for aging) of the domaine. Initially produced out of personal interest for a few long-time regulars and many neighbors "in the know," not to mention family, especially a brother for whom cooking is the centerpiece of the home!
