Domaine Cosse-Maisonneuve Cahors "La Marguerite" red 2020

97/100 RVF. The largest cuvée from the domaine Cosse-Maisonneuve made from malbec, although the "little" newcomer, Sidérolithe, 100% cabernet franc, will likely overshadow it a bit in the future! Potential aging of about 30 years.

Domaine Cosse-Maisonneuve Cahors "La Marguerite" red 2020

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2025 (Sept. 2024): 97/100. The miraculous ecosystem and iron-rich soils give La Marguerite the essential tension for very long aging, without the impact of the vintage's heat.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Yohan Castaing, Dec. 2024): 96/100. Crafted entirely from Malbec planted on red clay soils, the 2020 Marguerite wafts from the glass with delicate aromas of cedar, dark berries, spices, mulberries, and flowers mingled with notes of loamy soils. Full-bodied, dense, and deep, it has a rich chassis of tannins, a fleshy core of fruit, velvety tannins, and a silky and refined character, concluding with a long, spicy, and endless finish. Though somewhat reserved at this stage, a few years of cellaring will reveal its true potential as one of the best wines of Cahors. DRINK DATE 2024-2054.

Attention: a wine for aging that is still very young in 2025, we advise waiting a few more years before opening it.

Technical sheet written by the domaine:

La Marguerite is a micro cuvée produced only since 2011, with a yield of just 2000 bottles.

Grape variety: 100% Malbec

Age of the vines: 10 years

A dual wine, both extremely silky and incredibly powerful, with remarkable concentration that is not excessive, focusing primarily on finesse. An exceptional purity of fruit (blackberry, blueberry, licorice) and an almost limitless aging potential!
