All our vines are located on the terroir of Morgon. It is undoubtedly one of the most famous crus of Beaujolais! Typically, Morgon presents four dominant aromas: cherry, violet, raspberry, and a very slight hint of licorice… Combining lightness and richness, our Morgon has an average aging potential of about ten years.

Grape variety: Gamay noir à jus blanc

Average age of the vines: 70 years

Area: 15 Hectares

Soil: Acidic and poor granitic arena

Farming: Vines certified organic

Harvest: Manual. Carefully sorted, sometimes in two passes.

Vinification: Traditional semi-carbonic maceration, without SO2 or added yeast, lasting from 10 to 21 days.

Aging: In 216-liter barrels, for about 9 months.
Then bottled unfiltered but very lightly sulfited to protect the wine against temperature variations.

Aromatic type: MORGON generally has three dominant aromas: Cherry, licorice, and violet. In our vineyard, it is usually the aromas of cherry and licorice that dominate.

WARNING: the capsule of this bottle is made of food-grade wax. To open it under the best conditions, push your corkscrew directly through the wax, and once it is well into the cork, pull sharply (without using the lever if you have a waiter’s friend), in short, “the old-fashioned way.” This is my best way to avoid “crumbs” in the bottle!
