RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026  (Sept 2025): 88/100. The Léon Grenache rosé is worth a big sip for its delightful freshness and soft fruit; a very encouraging version of Provençal rosé.

Soil type: Clay-limestone, Rolled Pebbles

Grapes: 100% Grenache

Vinification / aging:  Manual harvest in 15 kg crates. Whole-cluster pressing. Natural settling at around 10°C. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of about 18°C. No malolactic fermentation to maintain beautiful freshness. Aging on fine lees for 6 months with bâtonnage to bring complexity, richness, and fruit.

Tasting: The color is a beautiful salmon pink, the nose discreet with floral fragrances of white flowers, fresh licorice, and rosemary. The attack is clear, followed by a beautiful roundness and a finish on acidity. Notes of fresh raspberries, spices, and resin evolve at the end of the mouth into tangy notes. A dynamic length. A wine for an entire meal, from aperitif to dessert. A joyful pairing with Asian cuisine such as tempura shrimp or spaghetti with bottarga.
