A cuvée full of fragrance and charm signed by Milan, a great name in southern viticulture (and organic) and for us a potential successor to the domaine Hauvette at much lower prices. Léon was born in the Alpilles, a new eldorado for fine southern wines. A "house" blend primarily from the 2024 vintage, but not exclusively. The winemaker is very meticulous!

Domaine Fontchêne "Léon" dry white

Soil type: Clay-limestone, Rolled Pebbles

Grapes: Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Chardonnay

Vinification / aging: Hand-picked grapes in 15 kg crates. Whole-cluster pressing. Natural settling and alcoholic fermentation grape by grape in 228-liter barrels (50%) and stainless steel tanks (50%) at controlled temperature. Aging on fine lees for 6 to 12 months with regular stirring of the barrels.

Tasting: A golden color and a very expressive nose with yellow fruits, honey, and acacia flower. The oak barrel aging adds roundness and creaminess to the mid-palate before a tender and flavorful finish. A white full of fragrance and charm.
