Domaine des Ardoisières "Améthyste" red 2019 (3 bottles)

92/100 RVF. Perhaps one of the best red wines from Savoie there is... even from a broader geographical area! The challenge is to wait a few years for it to develop its full complexity. Another 10 years won't scare it!

Domaine des Ardoisières "Améthyste" red 2019

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2023 (Sept. 2022): 92/100. The red blend Améthyste 2019, vintage already tasted last year, behaves in the same way, very fine but under the influence of wood at the opening, it gains momentum and brilliance after a long aeration, while remaining tight.

The Revue du Vin de France (May 2022): 92/100. The persan slightly dominates the mondeuse in this blend from the Cevins hillside, whose replanting since 1998, initiated by Michel Grisard (Domaine du Prieuré Saint-Christophe), seems to have been a propitious sign for the current renaissance of the vineyards and alpine grape varieties. While the expression is still under the influence of the woody notes from aging, the material unfolds a magnificent texture, a tense, sapid palate, elongated. Aeration allows access to the aromatic message, complex, nuanced, subtly vegetal and balsamic. It is wise to wait.

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2022 (Sept. 2021): 92/100. Pronounced aging, magnificent texture that reveals itself gradually, herbal notes, tension, sapidity, wait...

We recommend decanting this wine 1 to 2 hours before tasting
