RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2021 (Nov. 2020) : Favorite 95/100. At its peak maturity, the fruit is juicy yet precise, mineralized by the graphite imprint of the soils. The oak is fine and fluid. The palate captivates us with its vertical and finely woven structure: it possesses the restraint necessary for good aging. A beautiful energy and lovely potential emerge from this wine.

The cuvée “Viallière” is produced from the lieu-dit "La Viallière" above Verenay. This vineyard is primarily planted with "Serines" (traditional syrah from Ampuis), selected from our vineyard in the Grandes Places.
The Côte-Rôtie from the terroir of "La Viallière" is characterized by great elegance, a nose of black fruits, and a strong spiciness. On the palate, there is a great roundness and a very nice length.

Tasting: A vintage of great complexity, very elegant and with good aging potential. Store until 2025 to fully enjoy this cuvée.

Service: These wines are best served with flavorful red meats, mushrooms, or cheese, either in their youth or after a few years of aging.
