Clos Cibonne Cru Classé Côtes de Provence cuvée spéciale Tibouren rouge 2024

RVF Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026 (Sept 2025): 93/100. In red, the tibouren is graceful and tender in the cuvée Spéciale Tibouren.

Technical sheet written by the domaine:

Grapes: Tibouren 90%, Grenache 10%

Terroir: We are by the sea on a hillside of the Maures mountain range overlooking the west of the Toulon harbor and the east of the Giens peninsula. The soil, clay-schist, ensures good drainage. The maritime influences bring freshness in summer. The east and west winds provide good air circulation in the vineyard, ensuring the vines remain in good health.

Vineyard management: The soils are plowed to maintain a loose soil and limit evaporation. The traditional cuvée comes from Tibouren plots, averaging 20 years old, and are trained in goblet for the Tibouren.

Organic since the 2020 vintage.

Harvest: Based on the historical data of each plot, the harvest is organized according to analyses and decisions made to achieve the objective. For the red traditional cuvée, we harvest the grapes at good maturity, achieving a perfect balance between acidity and ripeness. A selective sorting and an early harvest allow for optimal picking. The grapes are destemmed before the implementation of winemaking techniques that will allow for maximum extraction.

Winemaking: The berries are directed to stainless steel tanks where the temperature will be controlled throughout fermentation. For about ten days, we perform pump-overs twice a day to homogenize the tank and promote the diffusion of phenolic compounds and aromas. The wines are then aged in large casks for several months (4 to 6 months).

Tasting
: The color is bright ruby, with a generous nose of red fruits and spices, and a silky, elegant, and fine palate. Best enjoyed with a veal roast with chanterelles.
