Mas Champart Saint-Chinian "Clos de La Simonette" red 2011
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Jeb Dunnuck, avril 2014) : 90/100. The only red I was able to taste, the 2011 Saint-Chinian Clos de la Simonette comes from steep, south-facing plots and is a blend of 65% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache and 15% Carignan, that spent 18 months in a combination of demi-muid (25% new) and tank. Slightly reductive at first, it blossoms in the glass to show pretty dark berry fruits, big minerality, chocolate and plenty of spice characteristics that flow to a medium-bodied, supple and impressively textured and balanced feel on the palate. Already delicious, it should, nevertheless, evolve gracefully through 2021.
